I really like that cute sneakers image from the Epic Celebrations stamp set. There's something both retro and current about it, probably because fashion is a big cycle and everything that was big in the 80s and 90s is currently making a comeback. I saw a lot of sneakers like those back in my young days. I had been meaning to make a card with colorful sneakers and when I spotted the CAS Colours challenge #264, I knew those colors would really pop against black and white. I also wanted to pull out the fantastic Springtime Foils Specialty Series Designer Paper (offered during SAB) before they retire. I used a brayer to add Bermuda Bay ink to the silver striped paper. Here's my warning to you: do not wipe the ink from the foil stripes before the ink you applied had a bit of time to dry. Those Specialty papers have a little bit of a glossy texture and while that allows for easy ink blending, the ink does not instantly dry on it. That also means that you have to be VERY careful if you don't want to leave fingerprints behind. I had to go back and buff away fingerprints at least three times. I also had to use my heat tool on the low setting to dry the ink so that I could get going with finishing my card.
I wanted to have a black embossed sentiment on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Since we don't carry the black powder anymore, I took advantage of using a stamp positioning tool to stamp the sentiment a couple of times with black ink first, and then I washed my stamp and overstamped the sentiment in VersaMark to emboss with clear powder. It ended up being a good thing that I did that because the first layer of embossing was not even. Some parts were not shiny, so I took advantage of the fact that my stamp was still in place in the positioning tool and I stamped with VersaMark and embossed a second time to correct. That made a huge difference on the result, which I was way more happy with. The sentiment was die-cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and I used the uneven polka dot stamp to fill the empty space around the sentiment. To finish the card off, I added Tutti-Frutti sequins.
Since we don't carry Stampin' Blends in all of the shades I was using, my sneakers were colored with Stampin' Write markers. The design came from Clean & Simple Sketch Take II #61, which I pivoted 90 degrees to be able to accomodate a row of sneakers.

Love your fun card - the trainers as we call them in the UK are cute and I love how you coloured the foiled paper to co-ordinate. Thank you for sharing on the CC&S challenge blog.
