I was looking at the panda with open arms from the Party Pandas stamp set (2018 SAB) and to me, it looked like he should be holding something. I thought a banner might be cute and as I was pondering how to make a small banner, I remembered that the Home Sweet Home Thinlits set includes a little banner. I held my breath when I pulled it out to measure it - and it turns out that it's the exact same width as the panda's arms! Love when things work out like that.
I drew inspiration from CAS(E) This Sketch #265 for my design. I was trying to decide if I would stamp a sentiment directly on the banner, but it was hard to find something birthday-related that only had five letters in French, so I switched gears and embossed a larger sentiment on the card base. I had die-cut a few banners from various colors of paper, thinking I'd paper piece the banner in the panda's hand, but then, I tested out how it would look if I did a longer banner going up to the sentiment and hanging from it, and I liked how it filled the card, so that's what I went with.
The card base is from the Tutti-Frutti cards and envelopes set, the Designer Series Paper is from the Bubbles & Fizz pack and the ribbon is from the shimmer ribbon pack, all three of which are SAB items. A few Tutti-frutti sequins were added as well.
