The Beautiful Peacock stamp set (Sale-A-Bration freebie) is both fun and elegant. Be warned, though: I found it to be a little finicky to stamp without getting ink where you don't want it! I would recommend using a very light touch with your ink pads when inking the images. My first boo-boo was getting ink inside the peacock's wing, which is supposed to remain blank. No biggie - I just decided to would restamp the image, cut out the wing and pop it up with Dimensionals to hide the ink spot. Which turned out great, really, because it gives the image dimension. Happy accident on this one.
The background was created by stamping the flourish in Versamark repeatedly and embossing it with Clear Stampin' Emboss powder. I then added little flowers and the polka dots in Berry Burst ink. At the last minute, I spotted the Myths & Magic 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper and realized the colors matched my colour scheme, so I looked through my dies, found a small flower in the Flourish Thinlits dies set, which I used with the green paper. Tutti-frutti sequins were also added, along with rhinestones. The sentiment ("Today is YOUR day!" was embossed in white on a Old Olive strip and then popped up on a foam adhesive strip.
