This week, Stampin' Up! shared some quick one-minute videos showing how to make some of the cards from their Occasions catalogue. I had always thought the doughtnut card made with the Picture Perfect Birthday suite was adorable, so when I spotted the video, I decided to make one of my own. And then it turned into two, because I handcut all of the doughtnuts from the page and decided I might as well make two while all of the supplies were out.
The little frilly borders that were used on the original sample were omitted from the video because it seems that product is not available anymore. But there's nothing preventing you from making your own frilly border. I used the fringe scissors we used to carry but if you don't have them, you could just use your snips. I added a row of piercing in the center using my paper piercer to mimick stitching and on a whim, I used my Clear Wink of Stella brush to add sparkle to the "stitching" in the center and to the end of the fringes. Because the fringe is going over the edge of the card, I made oversized envelopes using the Envelope Punch Board and Envelope Paper (now retired). The spare doughnut images were used to decorate the envelopes and insides of the cards. I also added the shimmeru white washi tape from the Myths & Magic pack at the top of the second banner, for a bit of extra pizzazz.
