One of the DTGD challenges called for geometric shapes. That's far removed from my usual style so I had to think about this one, and then I thought about doing something Piet Mondrian-inspired, using markers to color in a grid. I first planned on cutting thin strips of black cardstock to glue over the lines, but then I spotted the black striped washi tape on my desk, which made the design a little more interesting - and really easy to put together! Since the challenge was calling for a bit of sparkle as well, I added sequins in matching colors in the rectangle corners.
Coincidentally, Stamp Ink Paper challenge #110 this week is calling for primary colors, which fits perfectly with Mondrian's art.

Hi Cindy, how very clever of you to incorporate the washi tape into your design this way. I never think to grab it. Works so well with these colours and design. I think a few of us were out of our comfort zone this week but you have done a fantastic job. Thanks so much for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper. Carolyn xx
