My parents are visiting for the long weekend (Canada Day) and I was making a demonstration to my mom of various craft items she had never seen. In doing so, I showed her the Distress Oxide inks, masking, die-cutting and coloring with markers. I also showed her the Stitched Fireworks dies from Lawn Fawn. She was pretty impressed to see how it all came together and get a glimpse of my creating process, and also how much time and steps went into creating a scene like that. Considering it was just a demo piece, I was pretty happy with how the little scene had turned out, so the next day, I decided to finish it into a full card. I pulled out paper and cardstock scraps in colour matching the ink, stamped "It's a Celebration" in Night of Navy ink and added glittery Nuvo drops and shimmery sequins to the fireworks to bring them to life.
The textured purple cardstock seemed a little bare and while I was hunting for a sentiment, I noticed that the new In the City hostess set included some small fireworks, so I used this stamp to create a background.
This card is inspired by Stamp Ink Paper challenge #105 (Summer Fun), Just Us Girls #400 (Celebrate) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Anything Goes). The design came from past sketch Mojo Monday #302.
