So after passing on the Loads of Fun stamp set the first time I saw it, I couldn't resist the second time around. I've seen a bunch of cute cards made with this set online and it was unique, so I decided to go for it. I've had it for a little while and hadn't inked it up just yet, though - I knew I wanted to make a cute shaker with it, and have the clothes float around inside the washer. I wasn't sure, though, what to stamp on the card if I wanted to make a French version. The set has English sayings like, "I hope you birthday is loads of fun" or "I am missing you". Those make total sense with the washing machine image, but the meaning would unfortunately be lost in translation. So after putting together the washing machine shaker, I pulled out my stamp set binder and started looking at options. There were a few things that could have worked, but I wasn't sure I would actually get any use out of the sentiments I was seeing, and then I thought, Maybe something for a mom? Along the lines of "Thanks for everything you do"?
ORGANIZATION TIP: So I have put together 2 different tools to help me find useful sentiments for my card. The first one is the binder, where I've stamped the images I own so that I can leaf through when I'm looking for sentiments or images. (It's a work in progress - I add a few pages at a time when I have spare time.) I leaf through the pages and place little Post-It notes in the margin when I find options I like and at the end, I pick my favorite amongst the options I flagged. This works great, except when I am looking for very specific words. Then I thought a spreadsheet where I could do a word search would offer a better option. So I did just that - typed the various sentiments I have into one Excel document. I won't lie - it required a bit of time, but it has turned out to be very useful. Including tonight. I just did a word search for "merci pour tout" and found out the new Feather Together set includes the sentiment "Thanks for everything you do".(And sine it's a new set, I haven't had time to stamp my reference sheet and add it to the binder, so I would have overlooked this option using the binder alone.)
AND it fit perfectly into the "bubble" I wanted to stamp it in. That bubble is in fact the front of the washing machine, which I had die-cut out using a Circle die. When I saw it on my desk, I thought it looked like a bubble and decided to use it to add my sentiment to the colorful card.
This card was inspired both by As You See It challenge #140 and the Dare to Get Dirty 2016 challenges on Splitcoast Stampers.

And I think the tip about the binder with sample stamps is fantastic. Thanks.
