Among the new annual catalogue hostess sets, my favorite is the Puns Intended set. It's cute and has great sentiments in it. The first image I wanted to use was the retro-looking camera, and it went well with the Mojo Monday Sketch #456. When picking colours to go with it, the Stampin' Royalty challenge #338 caught my eye and I thought the navy/mint combo would go great with the vintage-looking camera. This was not necessarily meant as a masculine card, but it could definitely work for a man since there's not a lot of frills.
The French sentiment translates to something like "The objective of the day: celebrating you". I stamped the first part repeatedly on the Mint Macaron cardstock, and I added the second part in the arrow shape from the stamp set. The Night of Navy banner was embossed with the Festive embossing folder (a fun new addition to our folder collection) and topped with a bow made out of Mint Macaron 3/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon. Mint Macaron is my favorite shade in the 2015-2017 In Color family and since the lace trim retired, I was happy to get a new ribbon to replace it. Some Mint Macaron laquered shapes were added as well, and the background was filled with the Sunburst Thinlits die, cut out of Silver Foil Paper. Doesn't that look great with the camera? Kind of like a flash background... Love that pairing. I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the flash on the camera, as well.
