The design is this card is inspired by MFT Sketch #266, but the reason it was born is a little silly. So I made this card here with paper scraps and used my last bit of paper to make a matching envelope. Now, the last card was embellished with bulky accents, so when I slid the card in the envelope, it would go in, but could barely close and looked ridiculous. That simply did not work, so I reached for another envelope and decorated it.
Then I was left with a beautiful floral envelope that I just couldn't let go to waste. I had only a few scraps of paper left and had initially planned on making a wine bottle tag with them, but I decided the thin strip of cardstock I had left could make a tall narrow card base, and that's how the card got started. The Love is Kindness stamp was out because I had put it aside when I went looking for stamps I could make Valentine's Day cards with, and I thought it would match the floral envelope beautifully. I stamped it in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and used my ink pads and both a blending pen and an Aqua Painter brush to color the image. (For reference, I used the following ink colors: Rose Red, Raspberry Ripple, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake.)
The sentiment was pulled from Fête de famille, a retired set that included all of the family members, and I selected "Mom." A piece of Baked Brown Sugar Thick Baker's Twine was glued in place using the fine-tip glue sold in the seasonal catalogue.
