I used to try so many new techniques when I first became a stamper and it seems like in recent years, I've been more content with putting together projects that were more product-based than technique-based. I'm sure this change was directly influenced by my stepping back from holding as many stamping events as well. That being said, challenges are a good way to make me revisit techniques and have me try out new ones. One of the DTGD challenge called for sky techniques. One of them consisted in sponging colours on white cardstock, and then sponging a dark shade of ink (in this case, black) over it to produce a northern lights look. I was skeptical when I first started because I didn't like the look of my first attempt, but then when I added the decor die-cuts, the background came to life.
Have I raved about how much I loved that new bundle? It includes the Jingle All the Way stamp set and Sleigh Ride Framelits and it is awesome!!!! Can't do a bad project with it. Just make sure you grab your own bundle when the catalogue launch, because I don't know how many of those SU! estimated they'd need, but it's already been popular with demonstrators, so if something was to go on backorder, my bet would be on this one!
