Today's card was inspired by two challenges that caught my eye as soon as I saw them: Retro Sketch #150 and ColourQ #276. That colour combo has something fun, funky and retro about it, so I wanted to put it to paper. It looked to me like it'd be great for a Valentine's Day card, so I used a retired set I had pulled out when I looked in my stash for Valentine Day stamp sets: P.S. I Love You. The colors were perfect for the strawberries, so I used Stampin' Write markers to color them and cut them out with paper snips.
The banners were cut freely out of cardstock and stamped with some of the images from the set in matching ink colors. The Confetti Hearts Border Punch was used on the Strawberry Slush banner. A paper doily was added underneath the banners, and the Crumb Cake layer was embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder. A piece of Painted Blooms Cotton Twine (page 37 of Occasions catalogue) was tied around the card. If you haven't seen that twine up close, it's beautifully silky. Lovely stuff!
Finally, the sentiment was stamped inside a stamped frame and punched out with the Modern Label punch. Boutique Accents were added as well.
