Today's card showcases a new Cat's Pajamas set called Life's a Beach. I had a lot of fun coloring this one because I love coloring umbrellas. Not sure what the obsession is, but I guess I just love using bright colours on them. The bunny lying on the beach also makes me long for nice summer weather, which we had a very nice glimpse of here before the weather turned freezing cold again.
I had started this card using different patterned papers altogether. I then colored my image which was I thought was matching colors, but since the papers had colors that were sort of muted, the finished image sort of clashed with my selected papers. I was not happy with the result, so I chose new papers and went for a totally different design as well. I'm glad I redesigned, because I am much happier with the new look!
The sentiment, which comes from the same stamp set, was embossed with black powder on vellum cardstock and held in place with two decorative brads. To jazz the polka dot background paper, I added a dollop of Stickles on every over row of dots. Gives the background a bit of pop!
I added a little white fluffy cloud cut out of white felt using a new TCP CutUp die that contain six cute little shapes. I thought the cloud went with the sentiment very nicely: "Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful." I pointed out the word "perfect" with the use of a shaped paper clip, and I finished the image off with some hot pink pompons on the umbrella. Love how they look!
