One of the things I added to my next order when I came back from Leadership was the Vintage Attic product suite. I bought the stamp set, the papers and the matching journaling die-cuts. It is all so beautiful! I am particularly fond of that umbrella image - so elegant!
I started this card by layering a few Design papers. I wanted to add a frilly border to my red panel, so instead of using my border punch, I decided to use the border stamp from the set, stamp it on Vanilla cardstock, cut it out and then cut it down the middle to create two borders.
The umbrella was embossed on white paper and colored with markers. Be careful if you do that because the ink that rests on top of the embossing will not dry (emboss-resist effect) so you might want to rub it off gently using a tissue BEFORE you handcut your image or else you will have fingerprints everywhere. Ask me how I know...
The panel used for the sentiment comes from the Lace die-cut cards I showed yesterday. I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to center my sentiment on it. The sentiment actually comes on two separate stamps: you have the Thank You stamp and two other sentences that can be paired with it. Here, I chose the "Thanks for looking over me" one. Since the sentiment is broken up in two stamps, I didn't have to use markers to get the two tones.
The cute umbrella image is one of the die-cuts from the Vintage Attic journaling die-cuts, on which I added pearls. Speaking of pearls, I also added one on the sentiment block and you'll notice it's the new bigger size that is now available in the Occasions mini.
I am really pleased with how this one turned out. I think the colours in those papers are just so beautiful together. I can't believe the last year's In Colors (including Poppy Parade, which you can see here) will be leaving us soon. You might have already heard that there will be a slight shift in the catalogue program, and that means that the current catalogue will end in May instead of June. Therefore, the 2010-2012 In Colors will retire soon, so make sure to stock up on reinkers, cardstock and ribbon before they are gone!
