Another item that has been on my wish list and that made its way onto my second Occasions mini order was the Create & Keep kit. I just thought the colours were beautiful and I loved the green envelopes! Let me tell you, this kit didn't disappoint! I think you can create quick, beautiful card in minutes if you use the elements from the kit, but you can also transform the cards into something more intricate if you add elements from your stash and stamped images to them.
To illustrate my point, let me share you a card I made with the kit. I started with an Early Espresso card and paired it with the beautiful Vintage Attic papers. I rounded the edge of the paper using a circle cutter and added our frilly Pool Party ribbon around the rounded edge.
The main image was created using the journaling block stamp from a new upcoming set we received as a gift at Leadership called Everything Eleanor. I stamped the block in Daffodil Delight, then I inked the flourish from the same set in Calypso Coral, stamped the ink off on a scrap of paper first and then added the flourish on the edges of the block before cutting it out. I then stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Il faut bien le dire (Occasions) SAB set in the center and colored the letters using a Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade markers.
I used some sticky die-cuts from the Create & Keep kit to accent the patterned paper. I added two flowers and a scallop border, which I then decorated with pearls. (On a side note, those pearls are probably the one item from the catalogue that I use the most. I remember when the pearls were part of the Pretties kit, how I wanted to put them on everything but had to pace myself since they could only be bought as part of the kit... Now that I can restock on them any time I want, I put them on everything!)
The card base was stamped with the same flourish from the Everything Eleanor set and I added two die-cut flowers from the kit, which I accented with punched flowers (punched with the Itty Bitty punch set) with a pearl center.
The beautiful green envelopes come with the Create & Keep kit. I decorated one with punched flowers and to make the center, I took one of the die-cuts from the kit that had "hi" on it and hid the words using a brad from the SAB pack. Don't forget you can always hide English words with accents or punched pieces to use your packs to the max!
Let me also share the beautiful box that comes with the kit. It comes in two separate sections that you have to glue together with Sticky Strip. There's even a velcro closure that's already in place - very neat! The box is already multicolored and beautiful, but I thought I would add some stacked flowers to the front to make it even more beautiful. I stacked a flower from the Blossoms Builder die-cut flower pack, then a second punched with the Blossom punch and a third flower punched with our 3-way punch in the center and a big Designer button threaded with Coral Calypso baker's twine. LOVE my baker's twine, especially the new In Colors that are now available!
