It Feels Like Gnome to Me

I'm finally back to stamping, after a two-week hiatus during the Holidays. I have been itching to ink the Gnome Sweet Gnome set from the Occasions mini, which I was lucky enough to get for free from SU! after taking part in the Book-a-Thon they did last December. Those gnomes are just so sweet, I was really happy to score a set for myself.

I drew inspiration from the Mojo Monday sketch and used one of the sentiments from the Effervescence set, one of the items that will be available for free during SAB. It says, "You make me glow," which is perfect with the lantern image. I was trying to decide how big a circle to punch around the sentiment and finally decided to layer those circles to make it look like a sun, which I think looks great! All of the patterned papers come from the Pocketful of Posies pack. I used the new scallop Edgelit die on the green paper at the bottom and used my snips to create a row of grass. The gnome was embossed with black powder on watercolor paper and die-cut using one of the new Framelits, then colored with inks. I added stitching using the new Island Indigo baker's twine around the pennant and added two glimmer brads. Simple, but cute. This could make a great masculine card.

Cupcake Cuties

Another catch-up post today, where I show you a few cards we made earlier this year at my Cupcake class. Those cards are not my own design: you'll recognize the first card as a sample from the mini and the following two were samples shared in the Stampin' Success magazine, the publication SU! puts together monthly for the demonstrators. (See, you don't need to create everything from scratch when you become a demo, SU! provides all of the tools you need! The stripes on the third card were added with the Simple Stripes stamp. We created our own glimmer paper using glitter and Heat 'n Stick.

Sweet Valentine

Another Valentine inspiration for you today, this time featuring some retired products that I used on a magazine submission. The papers are the only thing not available anymore, so these projects would be easy to reproduce with what is available.

The first project is a card featuring our red glimmer paper, vellum cardstock and the Greeting Card Kids set. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of our most versatile sentiment set.

 

 

The second project is a treat packaging made with two heart-shaped treat cups. By putting the two cups back to back, you get more space to hold more candy or a bigger treat. I decorated the front with a stamped heart from the I [heart] hearts set.
