Angie and I had so much fun stamping together the last time we did it that we agreed to do that again this weekend. It just amazes me how much I get done when doing projects on a time-limit. I managed to make four cards this afternoon and four cards that I actually like.
Here is the one we did based on the Card Patterns sketch #124. I turned the sketch around to make a vertical card and I used some old Chatterbox papers that have been in my stash for a long time and a Bella stamp that hadn't seen ink since I bought it in Toronto last summer.
The fun sentiment is from a new hostess set called Happiest Birthday Wishes. I used markers to ink each sentiment a different colour.
Recognize those buttons I added at the top? They are from an ooold SU! catalogue. I have a few left and they look so bare compared to the new fun Designer buttons we now carry, which is why I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine bows on them.
I used some organza polka dot ribbon from my stash and added a flower on it to mirror the sketch. The Bella lady was colored with markers and let me tell you, I should try and remember to keep coloring to a bare minimum when working on a deadline. One hour is not a whole lot of time to do some intricate coloring work! Don't look too closely, because I went over the lines in a few spots, but I think overall, it still looks cute.
Inspiration: Card Patterns Sketch #124
Supplies
Stamps: Lattebella, Voeux multiples (Happiest Birthday Wishes)
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Patterned papers: Chatterbox
Accessories: markers, flowers, brads, border punch, Oval die, organza ribbon,
buttons, Baker's twine, white envelope, Stampin' Dimensionals
Reminder: The Tour de Freaks is coming up on the 20th! Be back on Wednesday to see the fab projects we have prepared for you. I have three new projects to share with you!
This turned out so adorable!! I think going over the lines is supposed to make it "artsy" anyway! :)
I agree about getting so much done! Maybe we should always limit ourselves to one hour (or one hour 15 minutes for me!). So many times I get stuck and just sit and stare at the supplies (or watch tv!), but when we are on a challenge, you have to power through! Love it!
P.S. I showed my husband your cards, he was very impressed! I told you that you were awesome!
