I was really looking forward to sharing this one with you. I made this page a couple of weeks ago using some pictures of my sister and her boyfriend that were taken by a professional photographer. It was Judy's birthday gift and I have to say, the pictures came out gorgeous and I was itching to use them for scrapbooking.
I went all out on this one, so there are quite a few details on the page, some which do not show really well in the photography, unfortunately. First, to create my background, I created masks using the Lattice die and the Simple Letters Alphabet dies. All of the letters in this set are lower-case and I wanted to have a capital L, so I cut an extra leg off of another letter and added it to the l to create a L. I glued everything to the page with Dotto (temporary adhesive) and then I sprayed the page with Silver foil and Log Cabin Smooch Spray. Unfortunately, you can't see the beautiful metallic sheen it produces but trust me, it looks stunning in person. (And remember, those sprays have been added to the big catalogue so you can still buy them if you haven't already done so.)
Of course, I also had to use my new favorite die, Tasteful Trims (Holidays mini) and can you guess what I cut with it? I'll give you a hint - I recycled. If you have ever received a SU! order at home, you know that the company uses some brown paper as packaging. I usually stuff this paper in the recycling bin but this time, I thought I would do something with it instead. I ran it through the Big Shot, then I sponged the borders with some Champagne Mist shimmer paint for added glitz. I also used the packing paper to create my flower. I used the big flower punch to punch out about a dozen flowers, stamped some with Dot Dot Dot and others with the Sanded background, layered them and scrunched them up. I spritzed one of the new paper flowers with Log Cabin Smooch Spray and then added a Vintage brad in the middle to keep everything together. The leaf is actually a punched heart that I slipped underneath the flower.
I also used a piece of cardboard from the SU! box as a stamp, by tearing the top layer of the cardboard up, exposing the ridges underneath. I then sponged some White Frost shimmer paint on it and used it as a stamp on my page and then added my journaling with a Soft Suede marker. LOVE the look of it!
Finally, I used some of the leftover pieces from die-cutting the Lattice piece to accent the masked portion on my page and added some punched hearts and Teeny clear heart buttons on the design as well. Some of the hearts were included inside a Vanilla Hodgepodge piece, at the bottom left.

I love the embellishments on this page. When I looked closely I noticed how you used the little squares from the lattice and put the itty bitty heart buttons on them. Very cute! My favorite is the hodge podge hardware with the hearts inside of it and your paper flower. Beautiful layout!
