Encre, papier, ciseaux: Cute and Whimsical

When the Embellish Magazine challenge came out two weeks ago, I was looking for quick ideas to make samples for the event I was attending on that weekend and so I paired the color combo with the Taylored Expressions sketch and came up with this quick little cutie. The flower pot is from the Summer mini hostess set It's the Thought, which is just adorable, and I also used my brand-new toy, the Tasteful Trim die from the upcoming Holiday mini. I have to say, this mini is jam-packed with fabulous stuff and I hope you fall in love with it as much as I have, but of all of the fabulous goodies in it, the Tasteful Trim might be the item I was most looking forward to using. Maybe because the selection of new dies in the big catalogue was limited or because borders are a staple on any project, card or page. Here, I used the die to cut a scallop border out of chipboard, then I stuck a piece of sticky sheet on Peach Parfait cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot again. I glued the cardstock on the chipboard, peeled the red liner off and covered the border with Dazzling Diamond glitter. This glitter is transparent enough to let the Peach color show through, but gives the cardstock a sugar-coated look that really adds some charm to the piece.

I cannot wait to show you some more projects done with this die. My goal is to get Brandi to cave and buy it, since she admitted she wasn't really that taken with it. I'm always up for a good challenge, so let's see if I can make Brandi change her mind about it (and maybe convince some of my good customers they need one as well!).
