Encre, papier, ciseaux: It's here, it's here! / Le voici enfin...

I know you've been patiently waiting for the launch of the new catalogue, so how 'bout I share a project I've done with brand new supplies today, huh? Sounds exciting? That's the spirit!

My card today uses the brand spankin' new set Just Believe (based on the reaction of the demos, I think this is going to be a popular one!) and the Greenhouse Gala DSP. Here's how I colored the main image to get the two tones: I inked the whole stamp with a Certainly Celery ink pad, then used a clean blending pen to take off the green ink on the flowers, and then I proceeded to color them with the Baja Breeze marker. (On a side note, isn't it cool that we are now getting the markers in some of the previous In Colors we were missing?) Then, I stamped my image and I went over the flowers again with some White Frost shimmer paint that I applied with an old blending pen. Keep those old, dried up blender pen - they come in handy to apply paint!

The Xs you see on the paper strip were cross stitched with some needlepoint floss, and I used the mat pack to pierce holes evenly. I added two cross stitches on the sentiment tab, and then sew some Bitty buttons from the minicatalogue (but also now offered in the main catalogue!) on each side of the main panel.

Le nouveau catalogue tant attendu! Pour clore en beauté la longue attente pour le nouveau catalogue, je vous présente aujourd'hui une carte faite avec mon nouveau matériel. Ma carte met en vedette le tout nouveau jeu d'étampes Just Believe (et si je me fie à la réaction des démonstratrices à ce jeu, il sera sûrement très populaire!) et le papier à motifs Gala de verdure.

Pour colorer mon image en deux tons, j'ai encré toute l'image en Certainement céleri en utilisant mon tampon encreur, puis j'ai ensuite utilisé un crayon-estompe propre pour enlever l'encre sur les fleurs, que j'ai ensuite colorée au marqueur en Bleu Balkans (anciennement Zéphyr baja). J'ai étampé l'image sur mon papier cartonné Murmure blanc, puis j'ai utilisé un vieux crayon-estompe pour appliquer de la peinture chatoyante Blanc de givre sur mes fleurs. Voilà une bonne façon d'utiliser vos vieux crayons-estompes qui sont abimés ou rendus secs : en les utilisant comme pinceau!

Les X que vous voyez sur la bande de papier sont des points de croix qui ont été ajoutés avec du fil à broder. J'ai utilisé le tapis de coupe et le perce-papier pour percer mes rangées de trous avant d'ajouter la broderie. J'ai également ajouté deux petits X sur l'onglet de souhait et j'ai cousu en place deux boutons Bitty du minicatalogue (maintenant vendus dans le gros catalogue également!) de chaque côté de ma bande de papier.
