So when came time to prepare this week's challenge project, I looked at my pile of retiring stamps and decided to reach for a small but super cute set, Bitty Birthday. I looked around for a sketch to pair it with and found one on the Clean & Simple blog. I was looking through my chipboard pieces to see if I had a scallop circle that could work with the sketch and then thought, why not do a ribbon rosette instead! the I did a little bit of paper piecing on the balloons, added some silver cord to create strings, then dabbed a bit of Crystal Effects on for gloss and dimension. I didn't have any Eggplant ribbon, so I simply created some by rubbing pastel on white grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment is from the A Little Birthday Cheer set and the original reads "Celebrate your life", but I used markers to keep only the first word. If you're wondering where the candles came from, it's from the So Many Scallops set, which I also used for the white scallop frame around my main image. This set was issued during SAB a couple of years ago and I still like to use it with my Scallop Circle punch. I also used the now retired All Scallops set on the Pumpkin scallop border.

 

 

  

 

 

 

Ma carte de cette semaine vous présente deux jeux qui partiront du catalogue à la fin de juin: Bitty Birthday et Un petit plaisir de fête. J'ai basé ma carte sur le combo couleurs de la semaine et un sketch trouvé sur le blog Clean & Simple. Je cherchais dans mes pièces de chipboard pour voir si je n'aurais pas un cercle festonné comme sur le sketch, puis je me suis dit qu'une rosette de ruban pourrait faire une alternative unique, alors j'ai tout simplement enfilé un fil le long de mon ruban et je l'ai froncé pour créer la rosette que vous voyez ici. J'ai découpé les ballons dans du carton de couleur, ajouté des ficelles argent pour les fils et fini le tout avec un peu de Crystal Effects. Comme je n'avais pas de ruban Aubergine, j'en ai tout simplement créé en frottant mes pastels sur un ruban de gros-grain blanc. Le souhait du jeu Un petit plaisir de fête que j'ai utilisé était un peu trop long "Fêtons ta vie", alors je l'ai raccourci en utilisant mes marqueurs pour encrer seulement le premier mot. Les chandelles qui trônent sur mon mot viennent du jeu So Many Scallops, que j'ai aussi utilisé pour créer le cadre festonné blanc autour de mon image principale. Ce jeu était initialement sorti pendant Sale-a-Bration il y a de cela quelques années, mais j'aime bien le ressortir de temps à autres pour utiliser avec mon poinçon Cercle festonné. J'ai aussi utilisé le jeu All Scallops sur ma bordure festonné potiron.
