Encre, papier, ciseaux: Inkspirations Challenge - Inspiration #17 : Butterfly Wings

The one thing that kept jumping out at me while looking at this inspiration picture was the branch. It reminded me of one of the stamps found in the Embrace Life stamp set, so I pulled out and decided to match it with muted colors. After playing with my cardstock ring, I settled my choice on Kraft, Mellow Moss, Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla. I stamped the branch image with Whisper White Craft ink, set the ink with my heat gun and then watercolored the leaves with Mellow Moss ink and a blending pen.

I used the Horizontal Slot punch on each side of my main image and threaded Rich Razzleberry ribbon and linen thread underneath to hold the panel in place. I embossed the Very Vanilla textured cardstock with a Texturz plate and the Big Shot, the added a circle underneath the image. I completed my design with a piece of Mellow Moss designer paper (from a hostess paper pack), but the whole card still felt very bare, so I went for a butterfly cut with the Butterflies die and the Big Shot (one layer of vellum cardstock and one layer of Mellow Moss designer paper). I added a few holes with the hand punches on each wing.

This is definitely a cleaner look than the one I usually go for, but I need to work on my range, so this is me working on doing so.

L'élément de la photo qui m'a tout de suite attiré l'oeil était la branche. J'ai pensé au jeu Saisir la vie, que je n'avais pas utilisé depuis un petit bout, alors je l'ai sorti et j'ai choisi des couleurs douces et estompées qui refléteraient l'atmosphère de la photo. Après avoir joué avec mon échantillon de couleurs, j'ai choisi de combiner les couleurs Kraft, Fruits des bois, Mousse douce et Très vanille. J'ai étampé la branche en Murmure blanc sur du papier cartonné Kraft, que j'ai fait sécher au fer à embosser, puis j'ai coloré la branche à l'aquarelle en utilisant de l'encre Mousse douce et un crayon-estompe.

J'ai utilisé le poinçon Fente horizontale de chaque côté de mon image et j'y ai inséré du ruban Fruits des bois et de la ficelle de lin. J'ai embossé le papier cartonné texturé Très vanille avec la Big Shot et une plaque Texturz, puis j'ai ajouté un cercle de papier cartonné sous mon image. J'ai complété mon design avec un morceau de papier à motifs Mousse douce (d'un ensemble d'hôtesse). La carte me semblait un peu vide, alors j'ai décidé d'ajouter un papillon découpé à la Big Shot composé d'un étage de papier cartonné vélin et d'un étage de papier à motifs Mousse douce. Des trous ont été ajoutés sur chaque aile à l'aide de poinçons à main.
