One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE Halloween projects. I don't have children. I don't get dressed up for Halloween. There are no trick or treaters in my neightborhood. I barely ever send Halloween cards. But despite all of that, I LOVE making Halloween projects. The colours and images are just so much fun and allow for such creativity! When I first started stamping, I held off buying any Halloween stamps for the longest time because I didn't think they would be a good investment. I kept lusting over them, though, until I finally caved and thought, Oh, why not... Never regretted the purchase, and my collection has been growing ever since.
This year was no exception. Actually, this year has been hard on the wallet because the new Halloween sets are incredible. I litterally want them all! You'll see that the upcoming minicatalogue features a wheel called Haunting Hill that I just had to have. I figured with the wide oval from the sketch, it would be a good opportunity to showcase it, so I rolled it in Versamark on watercolor paper, embossed it in black powder and used an Aquapainter and inks to add color to it. The sky is a mix of Night of Navy and Elegant Eggplant, and the hills are Old Olive and Soft Suede for the roads.
The background is a black and white patterned paper from the Day & Night pack, which will also be sold in the upcoming mini (starting September 1st). I used a sponge to dab a little bit of ink in various colours on the white patterns to make it match my main panel.
I thought it would be cool if I changed the shape of the card a little bit, so I created a regular A4 card in Basic Black cardstock, then trimmed off a bit of cardstock on all three sides at weird angles. I ruffled some white satin ribbon by stapling it in place on the card, and added matching brads over the ruffles. I added a big Olive button at the bottom and tied a twine bow on top of it (held in place with a mini glue dot). The twine was actually tied around the bags that were sold at Convention and you know how we crafters are - we save and reuse everything! - so here is is on my card.
Finally, I stamped and embossed the bat from the From the Crypt set, cut it out and popped it up above the main panel.
So what do you think - spooky enough?

WOW!!! I LOVE it! The colours just pop right off of the page! It reminds me of a cartoon image...when you look at it, it doesn't look like it's stamped - it looks like a computer image come to life!!! OMG, it ROCKS!!!
