Encre, papier, ciseaux: Weekend sketch 89

I love coming back from work on Fridays and sitting at my stamping table to put something together. It's the best way to start the weekend!

I noticed Beate had posted a sketch on her blog, so I used it to make a card. I had been eyeing the To the Nine papers for a while and when I found out they were not retiring, I decided to add them to my last catalogue order. I hadn't done anything with them yet, though, so when I decided I would stamp the snowmen on my card, I looked at which current papers would work with them and decided on those. Not the traditional winter hues, but the colors are soft enough to work - I think!

The background was embossed with the polka dot Texturz plate and the Big Shot, and I used a sanding block to sans the paper off to better show the dots on it. (Tip: This won't work with cardstock since the SU! cardstock is died through, but our patterned paper has a white core, so sanding the surface will make the design stand out. You can also use it to rough up the edges if you are looking for a shabby chic or distressed look.)

The sentiment, which comes from the same set as the snowmen (Level 3 Hostess Set The More the Merrier) and reads "A Soft Winter," was stamped in Always Artichoke ink on Sahara Sand cardstock and punched out with the new Modern Label punch. I sandwiched it between my paper and mat so that only the top would show.

The main image was stamped on watercolor paper with inks and cut out with the Oval Coluzzle. I mounted it on a panel of patterned paper and used the Slit punch to add a slit on my main background and slide the image under it, then finished it off with a rhinestone brad. I added a ribbon bow made out of the white satin ribbon (that made it from the last minicatalogue to the current catalogue) and then used the crimper to crimp the corner, fold it over and hold it in place with a mini library clip. The corner still felt a little naked, so I punched a scallop square, clipped the corner and slit it underneath for a little peak-a-boo scallop corner. Finally, I stamped some snowflakes from Level 2 Hostess set Christmas Punch on opposite corners of my main panel before gluing everything together.

Mon petit quelque chose d'aujourd'hui est basé sur le sketch que Beate a partagé sur son blogue. Ça faisait longtemps que je contemplais les papiers Sur son 31 et quand j'ai su qu'ils revenaient dans notre nouveau catalogue, je les ai ajoutés à ma dernière commande de juin. Je n'y avais pas encore touché jusqu'à aujourd'hui, alors après avoir choisi les bonhommes de neige comme image principale pour ma carte, j'ai regaré quels papiers pourraient s'y agencer et j'ai choisi ceux-ci. Pas des couleurs très traditionnelles, mais je trouve que les tons doux des papiers peuvent faire hiver.

L'arrière-fond a été embossé avec la plaque Texturz à petits pois et mon Big Shot. J'ai utilisé un bloc à poncer pour sabler la surface et faire ressortir les pois. (Conseil : Ce truc ne fonctionnera pas avec le carton SU! car il est teint jusqu'au centre, mais comme les papiers à motifs ont un centre blanc, en sablant la surface, vous enlevez ainsi la couleur, ce qui fait ressortir les motifs. Vous pouvez aussi sabler les côtés pour donner un look usé ou abîmé à votre projet.)

Le souhait provient du même ensemble d'étampes que les bonhommes de neige, soit le jeu d'hôtesse de palier 3 Plus on est de fous plus on rit. Je l'ai étampé en Artichaut toujours sur du carton Sable du Sahara, que j'ai ensuite poinçonné avec le nouveau poinçon Étiquette moderne. Je l'ai placé en sandwich entre les deux étages de papier cartonné sous mon image afin que seul le haut de l'étiquette ne dépasse.

L'image principale a été étampée en StazOn Noir sur du papier aquarelle et colorée avec un Aquapainter et de l'encre Classic. Je l'ai ensuite découpée à l'aide de mon modèle Coluzzle ovale, monté sur du papier à motifs et j'ai noué une boucle de ruban de satin blanc (qui était vendu dans le minicatalogue et maintenant dans le nouveau catalogue) sur le panneau principal de ma carte. J'Y ai fait une fente avec le poinçon Fente à la gauche, sous laquelle j'ai glissé mon image avant de la coller en place, et j'ai agrémenté le tout d'une attache parisienne de fantaisie claire. Le coin du papier à motifs a été passé dans la crêpeuse et j'ai plié le coin que j'ai fait tenir en place avec une mini pince bibli. Le coin faisait un peu nu, alos j'ai poinçonné un Carré festonné dans du papier à motifs et je l'ai collé sous mon coin plié. Finalement, des flocons provenant du jeu d'hôtesse de palier 2 Noël en tête ont été étampés dans les deux coins opposés de mon panneau principal avant que j'assemble le tout.
