Bienvenue au Tour de Freaks! Welcome to our very first Tour de Freaks blog hop! This tour is brought to you by the Control Freaks Stampers members and if you have been following the tour, you should have gotten to my blog by clicking on the link provided by Gretchen Barron on her blog. If you are just starting out, make sure to visit all twelve blogs that are part of the tour today by following the links provided at the bottom of each post. Our theme this month is the Last Chance List, so without further ado, here is my homage to the retiring stamps and accessories!
My first project: Sunshine Scallop Top Box
Featuring the retiring Pacific Point corduroy buttons, Say It With Scallops stamp set and Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series papers.
Project info: The scallop part was highlighted with doodling made with the white gel pen. I added the ribbon before gluing the sides on the box so that the ribbon could be wrapped around the front of the box. The square punch was used twice: once on the yellow patterned paper and a second time on the stamped image. I glued the stamped image with Stampin' Dimensionals, slightly to the left of the punched square to create a "shadow."
My second project: Move Along Scrapbook page Featuring the retiring Canvas Cuts, Fashion District rub-ons, Big Deal Alphabet stamp set, All Scallops stamp set and Frames with a Flourish stamp set.
Project info: The Canvas Cuts ticket was died with a dauber and some Classic Tempting Turquoise ink. The Canvas Cuts scallop border was colored with a dauber and black pastel and I overstamped the design from All Scallops in Basic Black Classic ink on top. The Designer Series papers used were from the Pink Flamingo pack. The yellow flower from one of the papers was glued on a piece of cardstock and then cut out with scissors. This made the flower sturdier and it was easier to pop it up on Stampin' Dimensionals on the page. The center was accented with silver beads glued with Crystal Effects. The background circle was done by tracing a salad bowl on the paper and cutting it out with paper snips. I added a row made out of punched arrows (My Way punch). The journaling block was cut out of patterned paper. I stamped the flourishes from Frames with a Flourish at the top and the bottom and punched the corners out with the Ticket Corner punch, then added clear rhinestone brads in the middle of each flourishes and handwrote my journaling with a Basic Black marker. The black button was created by transferring a white rub-on on black cardstock and punching it out with a punch.
My third project: Life's a Breeze card
Featuring the retiring Canvas Cuts, Sweet Slumber Designer Series papers, Fashion District rub-ons, Life's a Breeze stamp set, In Colours cardstock and inks, and Dress Up Ribbons Originals.
Project info: This is a 3-1/4 x 6-½ card and the format was inspired by our small open-end envelopes (p. 157 of current catalogue). The Canvas Cuts I used under the boat image was too yellow to match the paper so I turned it around and discovered the underside was white! The sun was stamped in So Saffron Craft ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice powder to make it sparkle. And did you know the sun fits perfectly into the Boho Blossoms punch?

While taking the tour I usually look at other projects that each person has posted. As I scrolled through I saw that your blog entries are in English & in French. That is so cool!! Why, you might ask. I took French in school from 6-12th grades. I used to speak it fluently but with life & lack of practice I've lost a lot of what I used to know. When I was fluent I could read it as well as speak & write it. I am part French by heritage and have always had a love for the language. I really enjoyed reading some of the French being able to comprehend some of it. Thank you for posting in both languges so I can further understand the parts I didn't comprehend in French! From time to time I will take time to pop onto your site so I can practice up on my French a little more and to see your work as well.
