Encre, papier, ciseaux: Camée / Cameo

J'ai toujours aimé les pendantifs et broches en forme de camée. Peut-être parce que ça fait un peu vieillot et victorien... Inutile de dire que quand j'ai vu le défi de faire notre propre version d'un camée, ça m'a tout de suite inspiré!

J'ai sorti mon jeu préféré du dernier catalogue, She's All That, et du carton Goyave parfaite pour créer mon médaillon. J'ai étampé l'image à l'encre Murmure blanc et l'ai embossé avec de la poudre transparente. Pour le reste, j'ai sorti tout ce qui pouvait faire victorien et antique pour décorer ma carte : boutons ronds et nacrés, ruban froissé, souhait à écriture manuscrite, petites fleurs, fleurons...

D'ailleurs, les fleurons ont été découpés à la Big Shot avec une découpe que ma recrue Suzanne a eu la gentillesse de me prêter. À notre rencontre d'équipe de vendredi, Suzanne a eu la gentillesse de m'offrir de garder la découpe avec moi jusqu'à ce qu'on se revoit afin que je puisse l'utiliser pour mes projets. J'espère que ça pourra inspirer Suzanne pour ses propres projets futurs...

L'arrière-fond à pois est une découpe de Making Memories provenant d'un petit livret de découpes.

Quant à l'enveloppe, elle a été découpée dans un des papiers de l'ensemble Ghostly Greetings. Le fond gris avec les petits motifs de fleurons noirs était parfait pour s'agencer à ma carte. Je l'ai dit souvent, mais je le répète : ces papiers peuvent servir pour autre chose que des projets d'Halloween. Évidemment, l'envers du papier était orange avec des chauve-souris, alors j'ai doublé le rabat avec une retaille de papier Goyave provenant de l'ensemble Gingembre en fleurs.

I always had a thing for cameos. Maybe because of their antique, victorian appearance... Needless to say, when I saw that one of the Virtual Stamping Night challenge on SCS was to make our own cameo, I was all over that challenge!

I pulled out my favorite set from the last minicatalogue, She's All That, and some Groovy Guava cardstock to create the medallion. I stamped the image with Whisper White ink and embossed it with clear powder. For the rest of the card, I pulled out everything I could find that had a vintage, victorian look to embellish my card: Mother-of-pearl buttons, crinckled ribbon, handwritten sentiment, small flowers, flourishes...

Speaking about which, the black flourishes were cut with the Big Shot with a die that my downline member Suzanne was nice enough to let me borrow. We hads a team meeting last Friday and she offered to let me keep it until we see each other again so I could play with it. I think she secretly wants me to find ways to use this die for her... (Just kidding!)

The polka dot mat comes from a Making Memories booklet and was perfect for this card.

As for the envelope, I handcut it out of some Ghostly Greetings papers. The black flourishes on the grey background made for the perfect match to the card. I've said it before and I'll say it again: those papers do not have to be used exclusively for Halloween projects. Since the other side of the paper was orange with bats on it, I lined the envelope with some Guava paper leftover from the Ginger Blossoms paper kit.

What a great inspiration card! Very pretty card. When I'm there for x-mas, we're going to build a light tent together so we can start taking better shots of our cards!
