When I saw the theme of Merry Monday challenge #226 (candy cane), I pulled out the Candy Cane Kisses A la Modes stamp set, which I hadn't used in a long time and seemed like an appropriate choice. It begged to be paired with the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper, which I knew would work well with it. I had also recently seen some cards with the main image colored with pencils on kraft cardstock and I had mentally pinned this idea because I hadn't done that myself in a while. When I pulled out the papers and remembered they had Crumb Cake in there, I knew my stamped image would look awesome on this colour of cardstock - which in turn gave me the possibilities of adding a lot of white accents (the snow, the candy cane, the fur trim) and have it jump out and keep the design interesting.
For the sentiment, I went through my French seasonal options and finally landed on "Season of joy" from Christmas Pines. I embossed it in white powder on Real Red cardstock to make it stand out. Falling snow was made using Nuvo Glitter Drops in Silver Moondust. I also found an older pack of Designer Buttons (Nordic) and they matched the feel and colour of the DSP so nicely.
Design was inspired by MFT Sketch #310.
