This card was inspired by different challenges: Simon Says Stamps Wednesday (trio), TCP Tuesday #328 (snow), Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #220, Stamping Smiles Designs #22 (texture + vellum+ use Christmas stamps for other occasion) and MFT color Challenge #58.
I had put aside the Bundle Up papers from Crate Paper to use on my next project and I thought they would work well on a non-Holidays card. For the sentiment, I found something in an old hostess set that reads, "Never too old to celebrate," which I liked paired with the penguins making snow angels. Of course, I couldn't resist adding Liquid Applique all around the snow angel shapes for dimension.
One fun detail is that I modified the background paper to make it my own. The original paper had pink polka dots on a mint background, and I used a snowflake stamp from my Penguin Joy stamp set to stamp a dark pink snowflake in some of the dots. I also used the splash stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to white-emboss a splatter on the background, which was inspired from the sketch and ties in nicely with the snow theme.
The arrow and frames are die-cut that are part of the Bundle Up line. I had first intended on putting the frames into one another, but when things moved around on the card, I found that having the frames at an angle and not perfectly lined up made the card more dynamic.
