I liked how the sketch called for the spotlight on the sentiment, so I looked for a larger sentiment and "We have to celebrate with cake" from Party with Cake caught my attention. I already knew I wanted to pair some of those sentiments with the overstuffed bear from the Beary Special Birthday stamp set because they were a natural match. I had first thought I would use the "Calories don't count today" stamp, but inspired by the sketch, I went with the large sentiment and added in a second ink color "and candy and more cake" afetrwards.
The card base was created with Shimmery White cardstock and I stamped the little bear and watercolored him with inks on a scrap of the same cardstock. I have to tell you - the pack I'm using was bought when I first started stamping and building my cardstock collection, so I suspect I've lasted close to a decade with one pack! Lately, I've been discovering just how well it works with many coloring mediums - watercolor pencils, inks, coloring pencils - and using a ton of it. The shimmer is just subtle enough to add dazzle without it having to be used solely on Holidays projects.
To finish it off, I found a piece of Pumpkin Pie rickrack in a box where I keep my Stampin' Up! ribbon scraps, so I added it to my card base after rounding the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner punch, and I stamped my bear image over it using Stampin' Dimensionals.
