This card was inspired by ColourQ #362 and Retro Sketch #234, which happens to let you pick any past sketches, so I pulled out the ones I hadn't played with yet and picked Retro Sketch #198. It gave me the chance to ink up the Tin of Tags stamp set (from the Holidays catalogue). I did not buy the tag kit, but I really liked the fonts and sentiments included in the stamp set, so I decided to get it as a stand-alone.
I layered one of the sentiments over the snowflake stamp, and added a few stars around it. One of my favorite stamps from the set is the cute star banner I stamped around the edge of the patterned paper (and on the envelope). I predict I'll use this one again because it's adorable and a great way to add borders to a project. The sentiment was then framed with a die-cut frame made using the Layering Squares Framelits dies.
The background is Silver Foil Paper I embossed with an embossing folder (from Echo Park). I have not purchased a lot of embossing folders from other compagnies than Stampin' Up! over the years because they've had a great and extensive collection, but I will admit I'm surprised in all of the years we've had the Big Shot that they've never designed a snowflake-covered background. We've had one folder that had a few snowflakes cascading the side, but I really wanted one that was fully covered.
