This card is a direct inspiration from a card seen on Jennifer McGuire's blog. She was showing how to make floating cards using die-cuts and I really loved the idea, so I gave it a try using the new Flourish Thinlits dies from Stampin' Up! The colour combo came from the Fab Friday Challenge #90 and also TGIF #62 (blue, red and white).
I wanted a long sentiment to stabilize the card and I found one in the Here For You stamp set. The sentiment reads, "I wish I could have avoided this for you." I like how the white embossing really pops on the navy cardstock strip.
The card is not matted with acetate, it is just the flourish die-cut and the sentiment holding the right and left panels together and what you see in the middle is the white inside of the card.
