For the Chock-Full of Cheer page, I decided to go the 8½ x 11 route for a change. I used a picture I had taken of my mom's Christmas tree (notice the vintage ornaments I was telling you about yesterday at center left?). She's a Christmas nut and she puts so many ornaments in her tree that my dad has to tie the tree in the corner to keep it from tumbling. I kid you not! It always look gorgeous, though. Each Christmas, I always spend time gazing at all the beautiful ornaments she's put up and trying to spot the ones she's added to her collection!
As previously mentioned, I was short on current alphabets when I put the samples together, so I didn't have much choice but to use the Broadsheet Alphabet on this page as well. Not that I don't like it - it's really pretty! - but I might have preferred a little more variety had I had the option.
Using stamps, inks, sponges and a punched-square mask, I made my own Christmas stamps. The bottom border was created using the Tasteful Trims die (yup, still going strong on that one!) with Silver glimmer paper and added punched circles that were stamped with the Chock-Full of Cheer set. I used the same die to create the rickrack from which I hung my ornament, which I decorated in the center with a In Color Dahlia.
For the journaling block, I took advantage of the striped paper and handwrote my journaling at an angle following he stripes.
