Welcome to the weekly Inkspirations challenge! This month, it is my turn to host and I had the pleasure of adding a fun twist to this week's challenge. This week, I am challenging you to create a project using the provided sketch as well as something from your stash you have been hoarding for a long time. I can be something you bought a long time ago, something you have stocked up on or something that you have been keeping for a special project. You know what I mean - we all have those embellishments that are just so pretty that we're holding on to them forever, waiting for the perfect project to use them on. Well, today's the day! Get out those embellishments you've been holding on to for way too long and show us how you've used them on your project. When a catalogue comes to an end, I always get on a "let's use that stash" kick, so the challenge came just at the right time. I also knew exactly what I wanted to use on my card. I've had those Making Memories friendship tags in my stash for like six years. They were a gift I received after winning a stamping contest online. Nothing wrong with those tags - they're really cute! It's just that they're in English and most of the projects I make are in French. I had used up most of the package, but I was still left with two last stickers, which I used on my card this week. The color combo was inspired by scraps that were on my desk. It includes the new Concord Crush In Color (the purple) and some returning in Colors, Rich Razzleberry and Baja Breeze. Although I'm not usually big on purple, I do like how this one turned out! I also used some square epoxy stickers I've had for the longest time and created some tiles by glueing them on patterned paper. My only beef with those epoxy stickers is that they tend to yellow over time, so pairing them with anything white is a definite no-no. The MM stickers were vanilla, so I thought I could get away with using the epoxy stickers.

Bienvenue au défi Inkspirations de la semaine! Ce mois-ci, c'est mon tour d'être hôtesse et d'ajouter un petit quelque chose à notre sketch. Je vous mets donc au défi cette semaine d'utiliser un petit quelque chose qui traîne dans votre matériel de scrapbook depuis très longtemps. Cela peut être quelque chose que vous avez acheté il y a belle lurette, une décoration pour laquelle vous avez fait des réserves ou quelque chose que vous conservez pour un projet spécial. Vous savez ce dont je veux parler - nous avons tous des décorations que nous trouvons tellement belles que nous attendons de les utiliser sur un projet méga spécial (et évidemment, ces décorations ramassent la poussière dans le fond d'un tiroir puisque nous ne les utilisons jamais). Eh bien, aujourd'hui est un autre jour et je veux voir vos créations réalisées avec un petit trésor déterré de vos réserves! Lorsqu'un catalogue tire à sa fin, j'ai toujours une petite poussée de motivation à utiliser mon stock avant qu'il ne soit retiré. Le défi est donc tombé à point et je savais exactement qu'est-ce que je voulais utiliser pour ma carte. J'ai reçu des étiquettes en cadeau après avoir gagné un concours d'estampage il doit bien y avoir six ans de cela. Les étiquettes sont super mignonnes. La seule chose qui m'agaçait est qu'elles étaient en anglais. J'en ai quand même utilisé une bonne partie du paquet et il me restait les deux étiquettes que vous voyez sur ma carte d'aujourd'hui. La combinaison de couleurs a été inspirée de retailles qui traînaient sur mon bureau et elle contient la nouvelle En couleur Souffle saphir (mauve) et quelques couleurs En couleur qui reviendront dans le prochain catalogue, soit Zéphyr baja (maintenant appelé Bleu Balkans) et Fruits des bois. Je ne suis pas habituellement portée sur le mauve, mais j'aime bien le résultat! J'ai aussi utilisé un autre accent qui traînait depuis fort longtemps dans mes bébelles, soit les autocollants époxy carrés que j'ai transformé en "tuiles" sur ma carte, en les collant sur des carrés de papier à motifs. Ce qui me déplaît de ces autocollants est qu'ils jaunissent avec le temps. Cela veut dire qu'il est préférable d'éviter leur utilisation sur des projets ayant du blanc, mais comme mes étiquettes ici étaient de couleur vanille, j'ai pensé que je pourrais les utiliser.

I hope I have time to play. First I will have to take the kids to the pool. It's hard to be a stay at home Mom. LOL
