Inkspirations Sketch #22 - 10000101110 (So Sorry to Hear)

 
  

 

I had a tough card to make this week. No, not a masculine card. The other kind - a synpathy card. My mom e-mailed to let us know that my uncle from B.C. passed away last week. I wanted to send the family a card to let them know I was thinking about them and since my cousins speak English, I wanted to create one with an English sentiment on it. The sentiment comes from the retired set Small Sayings. I've put together a binder where I stamped the sentiments from all of the sets I own so that I can find exactly what I am looking for when I make a specific card. The binder came in handy on this card, as I flipped to the English section and looked at what could work.

I was looking through my stamp collection and when I came across the little robot with the flowers, I thought it could work, especially paired with the new embossing folder from the minicatalogue, that has a geometric pattern perfect to match the robots. I pulled out the To the Nines papers, that I thought were muted enough to work on a sympathy card.

I know those papers will retire from the catalogue since they include retiring colors in them, so I am trying to use the whole pack up as much as possible before the end of the catalogue. To that end, I decided to use a sheet to make a matching envelope. It's pretty and it helps making a dent in your dash when you're a paper lover like me...

The robot image was die-cut with a die from the Lots of Tags pack and then matted with one of the Love Notes die-cuts from the Occasions minicatalogue, which I sponged with green ink to match the papers. The polka dot stripe in the background was created with rub-ons from the Dots & Designs pack.

 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 
  

J'ai eu une carte difficile à faire cette semaine. Non, pas une carte masculine. Une carte de sympathies... Ma mère m'a envoyé un courriel pour me laisser savoir que mon oncle de Colombie-Britannique est décédé la semaine dernière et je voulais envoyer une carte à ma famille là-bas pour leur laisser savoir que je pense à eux. Comme mes cousines parlent seulement anglais, j'ai choisi un souhait du jeu sans suite Small Sayings qui dit "Tu es dans mon coeur". Récemment, je me suis montée un cartable dans lequel j'ai étampé tous les souhaits contenus dans mes jeux d'étampes afin d'avoir une référence lorsque je cherche quelque chose de spécifique. Le cartable m'a été bien utile pour trouver un souhait anglais approprié pour ma carte.

J'ai fouillé dans mes étampes pour trouver un jeu qui pourrait être approprié et j'ai trouvé le petit robot qui tient des fleurs. Je me suis dit que combiné avec les papiers Sur son 31 et le nouveau plioir de gaufrage vendu dans le minicatalogue d'été, ça pourrait faire quelque chose de joli. Le plioir a un joli motif géométrique parfait pour accompagner les robots, et les couleurs des papiers sont juste assez sobre pour fonctionner sur une carte de sympathies.

Comme je sais que ces papiers quitteront le catalogue en juin puisqu'ils contiennent des couleurs sans suite, j'essaie des les utiliser au maximum d'ici là et un bon truc pour passer son papier, c'est de l'utiliser pour créer une enveloppe assortie à sa carte.

L'image de robot a été découpée avec une découpe de l'ensemble Paquet d'étiquettes, sous laquelle j'ai placé une découpe Transmission d'amour du minicatalogue Occasions, que j'ai teinte à l'éponge en Sauge subtile. La bande à pois a été créée en appliquant des décalques de l'ensemble Dots & Designs sur un papier cartonné Sable du Sahara.
