Psst... If you are reading this post on April 19th, please note that we are getting the tour ready and testing the links to make sure everything is working. The official tour begins on the 20th, so if you cannot make the whole round tonight, hang in there with us!
Welcome to our April Tour de Freaks! This tour is brought to you by the Control Freaks Stampers members and if you have been following the tour, you should have gotten to my blog by clicking on the link provided by Patty Bennett on her blog. If you are just starting out, make sure to visit all fourteen blogs that are part of the tour today by following the links provided at the bottom of each post. Our theme this month is Flowers, Mother's Day and Weddings! So without further ado, here are the fun projects I would like to share with you this month!
My first project: Flowery Friendship
Retiring colors: Green Galore + Pink Passion + Only Orange + Yo Yo Yellow
Project info: I used the masking technique to create the foliage behind the flowers, and to get a crisp colored image on the yellow cardstock, I used Craft ink instead of Classic ink, which is thicker and more opaque and produces a better result on colored cardstock. The sentiment was inked with markers to achieve a multi-colored look. The center of the flowers was decorated with a dab of gold glitter held in place with Crystal Effects. Even though it takes a tad longer to dry than the two-way glue would, it really holds the glitter in place once it has dried.
Inspiration : Curtain Call color challenge #25 + Clean & Simple Stamping sketch
Supplies
Stamps: Fêtes diverses [All Holidays), Vintage Vogue
Cardstock: Whisper White, Yo Yo Yellow, Pixie Pink
Inks: Green Galore, Pixie Pink, Only Orange, Yo Yo Yellow
Accessories: Whisper White satin ribbon, Clear embossing powder,
Scallop Edge punch, markers, two-way glue pen, envelope
My second project: The Reception
Project info: The page features the Sending Love papers, Love Notes, satin ribbon and the Medium Jewelry Tag punch from the Occasions minicatalogue. You also get a sneak peek at stencils from the Summer minicatalogue, which includes two stencils (a negative and a positive one), and one of the shimmery Smooch sprays (Log Cabin featured here, a nice coppery color).
Since the Hugs Love Notes die-cuts are white and my page had Vanilla on it, I used a sponge to apply pink ink on it and change its color. I then used the negative stencil from the set to add a flourish in a deeper shade of pink before handwriting my journaling with a marker.
To create the layered heart, I embossed the heart from the Always set with clear powder on Real Red cardstock and then I spritzed the heart with the Smooch spray to reveal the pattern. Another image from the same set was mounted on Dimensionals in the middle of a metal frame from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware set.
I handcut the pink on vanilla patterned paper following the bottom flourishes and I used a Chocolate Chip marker to go over the dot pattern on the paper to make the edge stand out more.

I love your card! Those colors are among my most favorites & ones I'll miss the most.
Your scrapbook page is so pretty - the soft colors, ribbon, embellishment along with the stencil all work so perfectly together.
