Je suis présentement à faire du ménage dans mes magazines et en feuilletant de vieilles éditions, j'ai trouvé une photo d'étiquette qui m'a inspiré la carte suivante. Je voulais combiner du noir et blanc avec une couleur vibrante, alors j'ai choisi le nouveau Melon Mambo pour faire une carte de bébé.
J'ai créé le "négatif" en poinçonnant les bordures d'un carton Simplement noir avec le poinçon Double rectangle. À l'intérieur, sur des carrés de carton Murmure blanc, j'ai étampé deux images du jeu All in the Family (le bébé) et Family Accessories (l'ourson). J'ai ensuite créé un gros étiquette Murmure blanc sur lequel j'ai étampé l'arrière-fond Polka Dot. (À noter : Cette étampe figure sur la Liste en attente, alors même si elle ne figure pas au nouveau catalogue, elle est toujours disponible.) J'ai collé mon négatif sur cet étiquette et j'ai créé un encadré cousu avec du fil à broder noir. Au haut, j'ai ajouté une fleur de feutre Rose rouge (qui ressemble suffisamment à Melon Mambo pour s'agencer) et au centre, j'ai utilisé un Build-a-Brad, dans lequel j'ai appliqué une décalque de lettre "b" blanche provenant de l'ensemble Fashion District sur du papier cartonné noir. ^Dans ce même ensemble de décalques, j'ai pris la bordure de chiffres que j'ai appliquée sur la marge gauche de ma carte. Comme cette bande mesure 12 po, j'ai appliqué la seconde moitié à l'intérieur de la carte pour faire un rappel.
J'ai ensuite pris du papier cartonné Melon Mambo texturé et j'ai étampé le souhait "Coucou bébé", de l'ensemble Voeux mignons* avec de l'encre Melon mambo à répétition pour faire un arrière-fond. J'ai aussi ajouté le même souhait sur mon étiquette, en Simplement noir. J'ai déchiré le côté gauche de mon carton Melon afin de laisser voir mon décalque et je l'ai collé sur ma vbase de carte.
Au haut de l'étiquette, j'ai inséré un ruban assorti et pour le faire tenir en place, je voulais utiliser une grosse attache parisienne noire. Comme nos attaches parisiennes 5/16 po ne sont pas offertes en noir, j'ai créé ma propre attache noire.
TRUC : Pour créer des attaches parisiennes de la couleur désiré, il suffit d'utiliser de la poudre à embosser. J'ai pris une attache argent que j'ai tapoté sur mon tampon Versamark et recouverte de poudre à embosser noire que j'ai fait fondre. Pendant que la poudre était encore chaude, j'ai trempé l'attache dans la poudre à nouveau et j'ai refait fondre. Il est à noter que l'usage de pinces est primordiale pour éviter de se brûler les doigts, même après avoir fini du fer à embosser, car le métal de l'attache vient très chaud! Il faut aussi laisser la poudre refroidir environ une minute avant de manipuler l'attache pour éviter d'y laisser des empreintes. Le cas échéant, faites simplement réchauffer la poudre au fer et l'empreinte disparaîtra.

I have been sorting through my magazines and stumbled unto a project showing a tag that inspired me to make this card above. I wanted to pair a bright color with black and white, so I went for our new Melon Mambo and turned this into a baby card. I created the picture negative with black cardstock in which I punched rows of holes with the Double rectangle punch, and I created the main images with the All in the Family (baby) and Family Accessories (teddy) sets. On the big white tag, I stamped the Polka Dot background in Melon Mambo. (Note: This stamp is not featured in the current catalogue, but it is on the Dormant List, which means that you can still buy it if you like it.) I glued the negative on the bigger tag and created a stitched frame around it with some black floss. On top, I added a Build-a-Brad in which I included a circle of black cardstock decorated with a white rub-on from the Fashion District set with a felt flower that is actually Rose Red but that still matches the Melon Mambo pretty nicely. Still in the rub-on pack, I picked the number border and added it to my card base. Since the border was 12'' long, I had enough to add a border inside the card as well to decorate. I then used some textured cardstock on which I stamped the "hello baby" sentiment repeatedly to create a background and stamped the sentiment in black on the tag aw well.. I tore the left border of my melon cardstock so that the rub-on border would show and glued it on my card. I added a polka dot ribbon at the top of the tag and I wanted to keep it in place with a big black brad, but since we don't have those, I made my own. TIP: To create brads in any colour that you need, simply tap a brad on your Versamark pad and then dip it in the embossing powder of your choice. Melt the powder with your heat gun, and while the powder is still hot, dip the brad in the powder again to make a second coat. Heat again and put the brad aside while it cools down. It is important to use pliers to hold the brad so that you don't burn your fingers and also not to handle the brad before it cools down because the metal will remain hot for a little while and also because you don't want any fingerprint in your embossing powder. If that happens, simply use the heat gun to reheat and the print will disappear.
